The human population is growing. Who will feed us in future? Food security starts with profitable farmers, transporters and processors. The core of profitable farming is rooted in understanding the markets farmers produce for and a deep knowledge of the supply chains to serve these markets.
But it’s difficult for farmers to negotiate directly with Processors. Adding to the problem, neither Processors nor farmers want to arrange logistics or be involved with any other activity needed to move farmers’ products. Somebody always fills the gap. But, it means added costs. The absence of quality data and direct connections between stakeholders in the agricultural supply chain has led to high costs, opaque pricing, and missed opportunities.
